University Corridors for Refugees UNI-CO-RE 5.0
The project University Corridors for Refugees UNI-CO-RE aims at promoting and increasing opportunities for refugee students living in countries of first asylum, to obtain student visas and scholarships, through initiatives offered by universities and/or higher education organizations to continue their higher education in Italy.
It is promoted by UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees), Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Caritas Italiana, Diaconia Valdese, Centro Astalli and other partners, together with several Italian Universities.
After the successful experience of UNICORE 2.0, 3.0 and 4.0, by which the University of Cagliari selected 7 students to study in one of its Master Programmes, now the fifth edition UNICORE 5.0 is launched to select other two students who currently live and have been recognized as refugees in Kenya, Niger, Nigeria, South Africa, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
The selected students will be exempted from tuition fees and will receive financial support for flight tickets and Visa-related expenses, and a study grant to help them during their stay in Italy.
