The actions will be managed through the "SMILE" window, created by the Student Mobility Sector to support foreign students wishing to enroll at the University of Cagliari, in collaboration with the System of protection for asylum seekers and refugees (SPRAR) and in particular with local authorities and associations the that collaborate in the management of the centers in Southern Sardinia.

The University of Cagliari (UniCa) promoted the project UNI-CO-RE 6.0

University Corridors for Refugees UNI-CO-RE 6.0

The project University Corridors for Refugees UNI-CO-RE aims at promoting and increasing opportunities for refugee students living in countries of first asylum, to obtain student visas and scholarships, through initiatives offered by universities and/or higher education organizations to continue their higher education in Italy.

It is promoted by UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees), Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Caritas Italiana, Diaconia Valdese, Centro Astalli and other partners, together with several Italian Universities.

After the successful experience of previous editions, by which the University of Cagliari selected 9 students to study in one of its Master Programmes, now the sixth edition UNICORE 6.0 is launched to select other two students who currently live and have been recognized as refugees in Kenya, Mozambico, Niger, Nigeria, Sudafrica, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia e Zimbabwe.

The selected students will be exempted from tuition fees and will receive financial support for flight tickets and Visa-related expenses, and a study grant to help them during their stay in Italy.
