COMPUTER-BASED ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEST (B1 LEVEL) ASSESSMENT SCHEME VALID FROM 30.01.2024
In order to complete the test, which consists of 50 questions, you have 30/35 minutes (according to the duration of the listening exercise and the length of the reading exercise).
A proper time management for the completion of the various exercise types is instrumental to complete the test.. For the entire duration of the test , a counter located on the top right will show, the available remaining time.
Below you find the test structure and the number of points awarded for each correct answer. In case of no answer or incorrect answer, 0 points will be awarded.

In order to complete the test, it is necessary to obtain a score of 36/60 or higher, equivalent to the B1 level (listening, lexical/grammatical and reading comprehension skills). By achieving the minimum required score, you will get access to the oral test, when required (e.g.: ACL service, skills assessment UNICA-CLA Project).

Tools and resources for study
B1 course through self-study
Students can use the B1 online platform provided by the University Language Centre as their main learning tool for the acquisition of the English language skills at CEFR level B1 through self-study. The course is organised in 10 units, each comprising a video episode complemented by pronunciation and comprehension exercises, a text with reading comprehension exercises, and grammar notes accompanied by exercises.

B1 Mock Test
CLA tutors and trainees have enormously helped us and the students by preparing mock tests (levels A2/B1/B2) on Moodle, accessible through ESSE3/UGOV credentials. These tests are in the exact exam format of all our computer-based tests (Progetto UNICA-CLA, Test Facoltà and ACL).
