Courses

The Language Centre of Cagliari University organises foreign language courses (Arabic, Chinese, French, English, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and German) aimed at improving the level of language skills and obtaining International Certifications.

Course organization

Courses are generally organised in 2-hour classes 3 days a week and are held in the classroom (or on the WebEx platform) and/or in the multimedia laboratory if possible. A different organisation can be arranged depending on the users and needs.

  • 80-hour courses for each CEFR language level, consisting of face-to-face lessons in the classroom and laboratory (if possible) or on the WebEx platform.  
  • 50-hour courses dedicated to the preparation for an International Language Certification for the following languages: English (TOEFL, IELTS), French (DELF, DALF, DFP), Spanish (DELE), German (DAF).  
  • Courses of diverse number of hours dedicated to specific language learning objectives: oral production, academic language, language for specific purposes, etc.

Addresses

Students regularly enrolled at the University of Cagliari, even temporarily as a result of national and international agreements (Erasmus), research fellows, PhD and postgraduate students, students enrolled in 1st and 2nd level Professional Master’s programmes, graduates residing in Sardinia, adults and non-EU citizens provided they have a regular residence permit.  


Final certificates

Participation in the courses and successful result of the final exam enable the student to obtain a certificate (Certificate of Attendance and Result or Open Badge) for the recognition of University Credits, at the discretion of the individual Faculties and/or degree programmes. As a rule, students must attend at least 80% of the total number of hours of the course in order to access the final exam.  


Teachers

Lessons are held by highly qualified native and non-native speaking teachers who are periodically selected by special committees which are mostly made up of university professors.
