PhD students at the University of Cagliari
Within the framework of an agreement with the PhD Schools, the University Language Centre has been responsible for several years now for assessing the language skills of PhD students in English and for preparing them for the CEFR B2 level (or higher depending on their PhD programme), as required by the objectives of our University.
Language skills will be assessed by means of a computer-based test. If your score is equal or higher than the one required by your PhD programme, then the computer-based test will be followed by an oral test (costs charged to the Language Centre of Cagliari University).
Please note that PhD students need to:
- verify the language level required by their PhD programme;
- achieve the language level required through our online self-study courses without waiting until the last minute.
Pending the schedule of verification and course activities, you can join the expression of interest by entering your Unica Esse3 credentials at the following link:

We would like to remind you that anyone who already holds one of the language certifications recognised by the Centre in the last 5 years, is exempted from the computer-based test or from attending courses. If you hold one of them, please indicate it in your expression of interest by entering its scan (in PDF attachment) for an assessment by our Director, Professor Olga Denti.
