Registration Method

The LANGUAGE SKILLS ASSESSMENT Service (ACL) has been reactivated for the following LANGUAGES: ENGLISH (level A2, level B1, level B2 and level C1) and FRENCH, SPANISH, GERMAN (level B1 and level B2).

It takes place every two month in JANUARY, MARCH, MAY, JULY, SEPTEMBER, NOVEMBER. Annual calendar below. 

- FULL REGISTRATION (effective registration for the Language Skills Assessment test):):

- LANGUAGE SKILLS ASSESSMENT TEST: The test will consist of a written test** and an online oral test***.

• **The computer-based test on the Moodle platform, which involves assessing lexical-grammatical, listening and reading comprehension skills, will take place in person and last 30 minutes. It will be limited to the achievement of the levels A2, B1 and B2. Regarding level C1, the computer-based test will last between 2 and 3 hours. The written test will be followed by an oral test via Skype or WebEx with a language expert. 

BE CAREFUL: Please note that starting from January 2024, if eligibility is NOT achieved in the computerized test for the required level, it will no longer be possible to access the oral test and lower level certifications will not be issued (or for the computerized test only)

• ****If you pass the computerized test, you will be able to access the oral exam, which will consist of a free conversation (topics: family, studies, leisure time, travel, etc.) lasting between 10 and 30 minutes (depending on the chosen level). During this conversation, the instructor will assess fluency, pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary. The instructor will evaluate linguistic competence, and the results of both tests (placement and oral) will determine whether the exam is passed or not, and the final level achieved. The CLA will issue a badge (digital certificate) or a certificate with a digital signature in the following weeks, certifying exclusively the required level of competence (NO badge will be issued in case of failure to pass the exam, and NO certificates will be issued solely for the computerized test). Please note that the minimum level of competence required for badge issuance is level A2, and it is not possible to duplicate previously issued badges. Additionally, it is necessary to ensure the validity for the intended purposes.

Service fee

The Price List for C1/C2 level has been supplemented by the Board during the meeting of the 21st of December 2022. 

The students of the University of Cagliari can use the service at a reduced fee and external students at the standard fee:  

€ 30,00 for the students enrolled at the University of Cagliari (Students Profile) 

€ 50,00 only for the students enrolled at the University of Cagliari who have to achieve level C1/C2 (Students Profile) 

€ 48,80 for the external students (not enrolled at the University of Cagliari)  

€ 97,60 only for the external students who have to achieve level C1/C2 (not enrolled at the University of Cagliari) 

Please note that the dates of the tests may vary depending on the number of students registered. Any changes to the above-mentioned dates will be announced on the website. For further information please send an email at amm.cla@unica.it  

If you are students enrolled in the academic year 2019-2020 and following of a bachelor’s degree or single-cycle master’s degree, you can take the Language Skills Assessment Test. However, we suggest you to use this service only as a last option, after having verified the possibilities available within the UNICA-CLA English language project in terms of courses and exams offered free of charge.
