The course will present the notion of distribution (generalized functions) for solutions to elliptic, parabolic and hyperbolic equations which occur in problems of Mechanics and Physics. Special attention will be given to boundary value problems for Laplace equation and initial boundary value problems for the heat equation and the wave equation. The theoretical material will be accompanied by examples and problem solving sections. The course is self-contained and it includes all main definitions and background material.
