The European Parliament Research Service will shortly create a History Service with several employment opportunities

---

The European Parliament Research Service will shortly create a History Service with several employment opportunities. The History Service will undertake and foster research about the history of the European Parliament, national parliaments, and (transnational) democracy. It will also work with relevant museums and engage in a variety of academic dissemination and engagement activities for different user groups and audiences including EP officials, citizens, and pupils. The History Service will recruit at least two contract agents for up to five years, who would be expected to have a suitable academic and research background relevant to its focus, as well as good language skills ideally in more than 2 languages, as well as the willingness and ability to engage in a variety of activities related to the history of European integration and the role of the European Parliament in this broader context.

Crucially, interested researchers with an MA degree and ideally with a PhD on a related topic, need to sit the EU entrance exam for contract agents for the employment level FGIV. If they pass the test, which they can sit in a variety of assessments centres across Europe (threshold only), they can then be invited for an interview for one of the posts, likely in the second or third quarter of 2022 (or, indeed, for any other contract agent position in any EU institution).

For further information, interested researchers are cordially invited to contact Professor Wolfram Kaiser informally at wolfram.kaiser@online.de
