---

The Department of Economics and Business (SEA) of the University of Cagliari is seeking potential candidates for one permanent position of Associate Professor and two positions of junior Assistant Professors (3+2 years) in Economics. This call of interest follows the recognition of SEA as one of the 13 departments in Economics, Management and Statistics that have benefited from competitive funding granted by the Italian Ministry of Universities, Education and Research (MIUR) under the Italian “Departments of Excellence” program based on the Italian research quality evaluation exercise.

The economists of the SEA Department specialise in areas such as behavioral and experimental economics, education and labour economics, international trade, macroeconomic dynamics and structural change, public economics, regional and spatial economics. Their research has recently been published in journals such as American Economic Journal: Macroeconomics, American Economic Review, Economic Policy, European Economic Review, Journal of Economic Geography, Journal of Economic Theory, Journal of the European Economic Association, Journal of International Economics, Journal of Mathematical Economics, Journal of Regional Science, Journal of Urban Economics, Labour Economics, Review of Economic Dynamics, Social Choice and Welfare, and many others.
SEA will carry out the recruitment procedures following the official selection policy and the “Direct Call procedure” . All information about the procedures will be published in the Department’s homepage .
Knowledge of Italian language is not required, whereas ability to teach in English is compulsory. The salary is defined by the rules of the Italian academic system. Candidates currently residing outside Italy can benefit from a favourable tax regime for four years, resulting in a yearly after-tax salary of approximately €45,000 for Associate Professors and €33,500 for Assistant Professors. Conditional on high-standards publication achievements, conspicuous research grants and salary top-ups are being made available for the next 5 years.
For preliminary enquires or to directly express their interest, candidates are invited to email their CV, with detailed information about their current academic position, publications, research and teaching activities, to brau@unica.it (subject: Call for Interest SEA-Economics).

The deadline for expressions of interest is June 25th, 2018.
