The Botany section is located in via Sant'Ignazio da Laconi n. 13, in the premises that, since 1858, host the Botanical Garden of Cagliari. The main basic and applied topics covered by the researchers belonging to the Botany section in the section deal with plant diversity and the conservation and sustainable use of plant resources. Studies are conducted at all levels of organization of plant life, from molecular and phytochemical investigations to the level of species, population, community and plant landscape. The Botany hosts the Herbarium (Herbarium CAG Museum), a laboratory of systematic, phytogeographical and ecological interest.
