Final examination

The Final examination consists of the drafting and discussion of a dissertation with original theoretical and/or empirical elements on a subject at least predominantly related to Economics. Students must work independently under the guidance of one or more lecturers and may also write and discuss their dissertation in English.

The method of analysis must follow the accepted standards characterizing the main subjects of the Postgraduate Degree Programme. Students may use methodologies from different disciplines as a means to an end, but the core theme of the thesis must be Economics.

In the dissertation, students must demonstrate their ability to gather exhaustive documentation and to tackle complex topics with scientific rigour and clarity of presentation. The dissertation must contain a comprehensive bibliography and, where appropriate, a description of the methods and techniques used in the research. Students must also demonstrate a satisfactory knowledge of the relevant literature.
