Excited to share our publication in Structures: "Mechanical Behavior of Composite Slabs with Recycled Concrete Aggregates: A Preliminary Study."

---

In this study, we explored the integration of Recycled Concrete Aggregates (RCA) into composite slabs, aiming to enhance sustainability in construction.

Key Findings:
- Environmental Impact: Utilizing RCA reduces reliance on natural aggregates, addressing environmental concerns associated with quarrying.
- Mechanical Performance: Our four-point bending tests on twelve slabs with varying RCA content (0% to 100%) and span lengths (2.4 m, 2.8 m, 3.2 m) revealed that RCA enhances longitudinal shear strength, supporting its use in sustainable construction.

This research contributes to the PRIN 2022 - Project SARCOS: https://projectsarcos.it, focusing on sustainable concrete solutions.
