On 20 January 2026, I had the opportunity to deliver an invited lecture at the Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences on post-fire investigations for reinforced concrete structures. The seminar, hosted by the Division of Civil Engineering, offered a valuable platform to discuss advanced methodologies for assessing fire-damaged RC buildings through integrated diagnostic and numerical approaches.
The first Biochar Day Sardinia brought to Cagliari an inspiring day of ideas, discussions and vision on the role of biochar in shaping a truly sustainable and circular future. The Main Hall of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture was filled with engaged students — the clearest sign of how relevant these topics are.
Venerdì 16 gennaio 2026 l’Aula Magna della Facoltà di Ingegneria ospiterà il Biochar Day, un convegno scientifico dedicato alle applicazioni emergenti del biochar in ambito ingegneristico, ambientale e dei materiali. L’evento riunirà docenti, ricercatori, professionisti e realtà industriali per discutere lo stato dell’arte e le prospettive future di uno dei materiali più promettenti per la transizione ecologica.
Over the past year, I had the privilege of working with outstanding colleagues, researchers, and students on a series of studies addressing some of the most pressing challenges in civil and structural engineering. Our work focuses on sustainability, structural resilience, and innovation, with the shared goal of improving the safety, durability, and environmental performance of the built environment.
