Introduced by Kirkpatrick, Gelatt, and Vecchi in 1983, Simulated Annealing is an optimization algorithm inspired by the physical annealing process in metallurgy. More than forty years later, it remains one of the most elegant approaches for solving complex optimization problems, thanks to its ability to escape local minima and balance exploration with exploitation.
I am pleased to announce that, together with Prof. Chiara Bedon (University of Trieste), I will serve as Co-Chair of the 80th Conference on Vibroengineering, dedicated to "Structural Dynamics, Vibrations and Monitoring in Civil Engineering: Challenges, Methods and Applications."
