Abstract

The present paper describes the most relevant outcomes of the LIFE08+ Project ““CO-ordinated Approach for Sediment Treatment and BEneficial reuse in Small harbours neTworks” (COAST BEST), funded by the European Commission under the LIFE+ Environment call. The project had as main target the development of an integrated network for the management of sediments in small harbours, coordinating the activities of dredging, treatment and beneficial reuse and promoting the participation of the Institutions, local Authorities, stakeholders and industrial partners. In particular, the paper deals with the results of the pilot plant for sediment treatment and valorization.
