Dipartimento di Ingegneria elettrica ed elettronica

Fabrizio Antonio Viola is Assistant Professor at the Advanced Electronic Devices LABoratory (DEALAB), Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (DIEE) (S.S.D. ING-INF/06), University of Cagliari. His current research activity is mainly focused on the development (design, fabrication and characterization) of ultra-thin polymer-based electrodes, capable to retain stable performance upon the application of harsh mechanical stress (such as rolling, crumpling etc.) and to record biopotential signals. His research highlights include the fabrication of world’s thinnest (< 150 nm thick), all-solution processed organic transistor, with high transparency, which allows the device to conformally adhere onto non-planar surfaces, such as human skin (for epidermal electronics application) and sustain bending radii as low as 700 nm (thus setting a new record for organic transistors). (Nature Communications, 12, 1, 2021).
