Roberto Giuntini has been a Full Professor of Logic and Philosophy of Science at the University of Cagliari since 2001.
He served as a professor at the Centro Linceo Interdisciplinare "Beniamino Segre" of the Accademia dei Lincei and as Philosopher in Residence at the Institute for Advanced Study of the Technische Universität München (2023-2024). He is a Corresponding Member of the Académie Internationale de Philosophie des Sciences and an Ordinary Member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts since 2024. His awards include the Jur Hronec Medal from the Slovak Academy of Sciences and the Birkhoff-von Neumann Prize from the International Quantum Structures Association. Giuntini has also been an Alexander von Humboldt Foundation Fellow and conducted research visits at leading institutions such as the University of Amsterdam and the Munich Center for Mathematical Philosophy.
He has published more than 100 scientific papers in international journals. His h-index (Google Scholar) is 29.
His research focuses on non-classical logics, quantum logic, quantum machine learning and quantum artificial intelligence. For the University of Cagliari, he has coordinated the PhD program in Philosophy and Epistemology and has served as delegate for E-learning and the Telematic University.
