Master degree in Marine Biology in 2012 and PhD in Marine Biology and Ecology in 2017 at the University Polytechnic of Marche, combing traditional and innovative molecular methods to study deep-sea biodiversity. Post Doc fellow from 2017 to 2019, focusing on impacts of multiple stressors on marine biodiversity and ecosystems, restoration practices and the implementation of EU directive (MSFD) to deep-sea ecosystems.

Researcher at the University of Cagliari (supported by the EU project PON AIM 2014-2020) from 2019 to 2021 and since 2022 LC is a confirmed Researcher studying biodiversity and ecosystems deserving protection in the deep Mediterranean Sea, using genetic nalaysis and non-destructive methods. LC participated and co-organized several workshops, summer schools, congresses and has been involved in national (PON, PNRA, RITMARE) and international research projects (MED_Units, IDEM, MERCES, MIDAS and DEVOTES, as project manager for UNIVPM).

LC participated to different scientific expeditions and oceanographic cruises in the Mediterranean Sea, Atlantic (Porcupine Abyssal Plain) and Pacific Ocean (Mariana Trench), in collaboration with international research centres (NOC and JAMSTEC among others). LC received grants from COST Action and EMBRC France and a prizees from Unione Zoologica Italiana, METROLOGY FOR THE SEA, and Accademia dei Lincei. Member of Marine Organisms Taxonomy (MOTax), Italian Association of Oceanology and Limnology, Italian Society of Ecology and CoNISMa.

LC is author of more than 40 scientific publications on ISI journals (including Nature Ecology and Evolution, Journal of Applied Ecology, Scientific Reports) and numerous other technical reports.

Her expertise currently combines morphological and molecular approaches (Sanger and NGS sequencing) for biodiversity conservation, ecosystem monitoring and sustainable management with a special focus on deep sea.
