About the Conference

  1. Is the conference open to participants outside Europe?
    Absolutely! We warmly welcome scholars, professional and PhD students from both inside and outside Europe to participate in the conference.
     
  2. Can I get an invoice for the conference fee?
    Yes, an invoice will be provided upon registration. The conference fees are already published on the website.
     
  3. What does the conference fee include?
    The conference fee includes access to all sessions, coffee breaks, and two lunches (Thursday and Friday). Please note that the Gala Sardinian Dinner is not included in the fee. Detailed information about this will soon be available on the website.
     
  4. Can I get a letter to facilitate my visa application?
    Yes, we can provide an official letter of invitation (based on a standard template) to help facilitate your visa application. For this, please contact Alessandro Lovari: alessandro.lovari@unica.it.

5. Can the same author submit multiple submissions?
    Yes, the same author can submit and present more than one submission. 

6. If more than one extended abstract is accepted, do we need to pay for each paper? 
    No, if more than one extended abstract is accepted, you will only need to pay the registration fee once.

7. Do all co-authors need to register for the conference?
    
It is not mandatory for all co-authors to register. However, if all authors wish to receive a certificate of presentation and
    participation, each must register individually, even if only one author is presenting in person.

8. Where is the conference?
    The Department of Political and Social Sciences is located in via Sant’ Ignazio
    da Laconi 78, situated up the hill above one of the most elegant central areas
    of Cagliari, facing the Roman Amphitheater.
    Conference main site is in Aula Magna Lai, via Nicolodi, 102, 7 minutes walking
    from the Department, and it can be reached also from the Castello Area (old
    part of the city).

  1. Direct flights  to Cagliari Elmas Airport
    In Spring and Summer Cagliari becomes a very interesting destination, a lot of main airlines have direct connections from all around the World.
    Direct flights from different cities in Europe:

  2. Cagliari Airport to the city centre
    • By train
      The train is a fast and easy way to go from Cagliari Elmas Airport to the city center and vice versa. The train service starts at 6.00 am and ends at 22.00 with trains running almost every 20 minutes. The journey to and from the center takes 5-10 minutes and Cagliari city center is the last stop. Tickets are sold by Trenitalia at the vending machines (both in the arrivals area of the airport and inside the Elmas airport train station) or online at the website https://www.trenitalia.com/en.html
      The Elmas airport train station is about a 5-minute walk from the arrivals area (please follow the signs but the station is close to rental cars).
       
    • By taxi
      A quick option from the airport is to take a taxi. A standard trip during the day costs around 20 euros. It takes between 10/15 minutes.  The cost is around €18 – €25 (there is fixed fare but it depends on the time of the trip). You can pay with your credit card directly to the driver.
       
    • Rent a car
      There are a lot of main rent companies located in the Airport area.
       
    • Local transport in Cagliari
      Cagliari has one of the most efficient local transport systems in Italy (CTM).

      You can buy your tickets online, using the app Bus Finder (https://www.ctmcagliari.it/busfinder/) or directly by credit card in the bus at the machine. If you have a print ticket be aware that you need to stamp the ticket to validate it in case of controls. If you have a digital ticket with the app you need to validate scanning the Qr Code you can find in the bus.
