Abstract

This essay, largely autobiographical, speaks of the changes in the archivist’s profession over the last forty years; he then dwells on the fortuitous discovery of some archives in the municipalities of southern Sardinia. Finally, he emphasizes the uniqueness of the Archive of a small rural hospital of the nineteenth century that has survived intact to the present day.
