Feedings habits of Alepocephalus rostratus (Osteichthyes)were investigates on the Central Western Mediterranean slope. Benthopelagic fauna such as pyrosomids and syphonophores were the main foods items and benthic prey such as gastropods the secondary one. Seasonal variations was the main factor influencing the nature and quantity of prey ingested
