Thesis. Preliminary guidelines

Choice of topic: the subject of the thesis must be agreed with the lecturer and must correspond to the relevant scientific disciplinary field (ARTE-01/A - History of Medieval Art; ARTE-01/D - Museology and Art Criticism and Restoration). The bachelor's thesis should be between 40 and 60 pages long (2,000 characters, including spaces), while the master's thesis should be between 120 and 200 pages long. The master's thesis must be original.

Communications: emails must be sent with the utmost attention to the subject line (e.g. “Thesis by John Doe, Chapter 1”) and the indication, at the bottom, of the student's first name, surname and full student ID number.

Materials: during the preliminary meeting, the lecturer will provide initial guidance on finding materials and structuring the table of contents. Students must continue their research independently, using paper catalogues and OPAC, guides, inventories and information systems. Please note that at the Dante Library it is possible to book an appointment for the reference service and that the UniCaSearch, Databases, Document Delivery and Interlibrary Loan services are available (see https://web.unica.it/unica/it/sba_scium.page).

Please refer to the regulations of the respective degree programmes for information on regulations, formal characteristics, assessment of papers, and to the Faculty website (https://web.unica.it/unica/it/crs_fastuduma_lauree.page) for deadlines.
