Carlo Sitzia received the M.S. degree (cum laude) in electrical engineering and the Ph.D. degree in industrial engineering from the University of Cagliari, Cagliari, Italy, in 2020 and 2024, respectively. From 2024 to 2025, he served as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow with the Electrical and Electronic Measurements Group, at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of the University of Cagliari, and with the Politecnico di Milano (2025). Since August 2025, he has joined the Electrical and Electronic Measurements Group as an Assistant Professor (RTDA).

He was awarded the "Best Student Contest Paper – Runner Up (2nd Place)" for the paper "Compensation of Systematic Measurement Errors in PMU-Based Monitoring Systems for Transmission Grids" during the 2021 IEEE International Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference (I2MTC), and the "Best Student Contest Paper" award for the paper "Fault Identification in Three-Phase Distribution Networks Improved by Line Parameter Estimation" during the 2023 IEEE 13th International Workshop on Applied Measurements for Power Systems (AMPS).

He won the "Massimo d’Apuzzo" Fellowship for Study and Research Abroad in 2022 and, in 2025, the "Carlo Offelli" Ph.D. Award for his doctoral thesis, conferred by the Italian Association Group of Electrical and Electronic Measurements (GMEE).

His research interests include parameter estimation and fault location for modern power networks, phasor measurements (PMUs), and instrument transformers (ITs).

He has been an IEEE Member since 2021 and a member of the IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society (IMS) since 2024.
