From 27 to 29 August 2025, Cagliari hosted the Eighteenth International Conference on Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering Computing (CCC 2025), a leading international event for the civil and structural engineering community.
Our group proudly contributed with two papers that reflect the main research directions pursued at the University of Cagliari:
Structures under extreme loads – MSc student Francesco Pinna presented “Stochastic Nonlinear SDOF Model and Probabilistic Fragility Assessment of Steel Plates Under Blast Loading”, an innovative reduced-order model that enables efficient and accurate fragility assessment of blast-loaded steel plates.

Sustainable construction materials – Postdoctoral researcher Dr. Arnas Majumder presented “Sheep Wool Composite Mortar for Thermo-Mechanical Retrofitting”, demonstrating how Sardinian sheep wool fibers can improve flexural resistance and insulation properties of lime mortars, offering eco-friendly retrofitting solutions.

These contributions embody the twin pillars of our research: advancing the safety and resilience of civil structures, and promoting sustainability and circular economy in construction materials.
