The construction industry is experiencing a transformative shift towards #sustainability, and our latest paper delves into the promising use of natural fibers.
"Enhancing Sustainability in Construction: Water Effect on Jute Fiber Composite Mortar" sheds light on how jute fiber composite mortar stands out against synthetic options, offering benefits like sustainability, recyclability, and biodegradability.
Key Highlights:
Water Impact: Analyzing how water affects the mechanical performance of jute fiber composite mortar.
Crack Analysis: Utilizing Digital Image Correlation (DIC) to measure crack openings during flexural tests.
Our findings reveal that the amount of water used in preparing grout is crucial. With 0.5% and 1.0% fiber composites, maintaining the same water content as in mortar results in reduced strengths. However, with adjusted water levels, we see improved flexural strength and varied compressive strength outcomes.
