Reading Room A (138 seats), Reading Room B (76 seats)
214 seats in total, 10 of which can be booked via the Bibliosar online catalogue. Bookings are available for the following time slots: 8.00–11.00; 11.00–14.00 from Monday to Friday and 14.00–17.00; 17.00–20.00 from Monday to Thursday. During the remaining opening hours and on Saturdays, all seats are available without booking.

The library is equipped with
- 214 study stations in the reading rooms (114 of which have power sockets);

- Stations for accessing catalogues and electronic resources;

Historical notes
The Library of the Monserrato University Campus was established in 2007 through the merger of the Central Library of the Biomedical Area, the libraries of the Departments of Physics and Internal Medicine, and the Interdepartmental Chemistry Library, with the multiple objectives of bringing together their respective collections, providing users with a single point of access to documentary resources with continuous opening hours five days a week, and optimising the use of human and material resources for a more effective delivery of services.
Since 2008, the year the Biomedical-Scientific District Library was established, the Monserrato University Campus has been the headquarters of the District’s Management and Administration. In June 2014, the library was named in memory of Beniamino Orrù, former director of the Central Library of the Biomedical Area, later the Biomedical-Scientific District Library, who passed away in 2013
