Il Prof. Jože Grdadolnik (National Institute of Chemistry, Ljubljana, Slovenia) terrà nei mesi di giugno e luglio 2013 presso l’aula 3, asse 1 della Cittadella Universitaria di Monserrato un ciclo di lezioni sulla spettroscopia vibrazionale applicata alle molecole biologiche dal titolo:
“Vibrational spectroscopy of biological molecules”
The seminars will present basic principles of vibration spectroscopy related to the molecules of biological interest. The first part of seminars is devoted to theoretical aspects of vibrational spectroscopy upgraded with examples from research of particular groups of biomolecules. The second one is dedicated to practical work on infrared spectrometers.
Each of series is equivalent to 1 ECTS.

The first part of seminars starts on 4th of June and ends on 13th of June.
04th of June from 11.00 h – 13.00 h - Introduction to vibrational spectroscopy
05th of June from 11.00 h – 13.00 h - Hydrogen bonding and the infrared spectroscopy
12th of June from 11.00 h – 13.00 h - Infrared spectroscopy of phospholipids
13th of June from 11.00 h – 13.00 h - Conformation of dipeptides in water determined by vibrational spectroscopy
2nd part of seminars (1ECTS)
The second part of seminars starts on 27th of June and ends on 5th of July.
27th of June from 11.00 h – 13.00 h - Introduction to software (OPUS)
28th of June from 11.00 h – 13.00 h - Sample preparations
04th of July from 11.00 h – 13.00 h - Reflection methods (Kubelka-Munk, DRIFT …)
