PhD students enrolled in the 3rd year of a PhD programme of Cycle XXXI will take their final exam to receive a PhD degree, according to the rules set up by the Ministerial Decree no. 45/2013 (article 8, paragraph 6), transposed in the Rules and Regulations on PhD programmes in force at UniCa (Rector's Decree no. 946 of July 5th 2013, as amended and supplemented).

EXAMINATION SESSION: JANUARY/FEBRUARY 2019

Admission to dissertation

To be admitted to the final examination, your PhD thesis will be evaluated by at least two referees appointed by the Academic Board. They will express their analytical evaluation on your PhD thesis within 30 days from the date it will have been sent, using the specific form attached ("Modulo referaggio_Evaluation form").

PhD students will send to their referees:

- PhD thesis

- summary in Italian or English

- report on their activity as PhD students and possible publications, dully filled in and signed. This report will have to be sent also to the Coordinator of the PhD programme (form "Relazione del dottorando").

DEADLINES
Thesis dissertation in JANUARY: the submission process will work from the fbeginning of December 2018 until 15 days before the scheduled date for the thesis dissertation. If the date for the thesis dissertation hasn’t been scheduled yet, 15 days will be calculated starting from 1st January 2019 – beginning of the examination session.

Thesis dissertation in FEBRUARY: the submission process will work from the beginning of January 2019 until 15 days before the scheduled date for the thesis dissertation. If the date for the thesis dissertation hasn’t been scheduled yet, 15 days will be calculated starting from 1st February 2019 – beginning of the examination session.
Please, note that the online application process for the admission to the final examination will be open only after the Academic Board will have communicated the thesis dissertation date to the Office in charge (Settore dottorati e master).

Within 15 days before the date of the thesis defence, applicants MUST:
1. Submit the application to obtain their PhD degree
2. Upload their thesis
3. Pay the stamp duty (€ 16.00)

Doctor Europaeus additional certificate

Only the applications submitted within the first semester of the third year of the PhD programme will be taken into consideration, as indicated in our Rules and Regulations.

Deadline: within 31st October 2018 submit the original paper certiifcate on your period abroad to the PhD Office.

Your stay abroad will be certified by a formal declaration signed by your supervisor on official letterhead of the hosting Institution, confirming a minimum period of three months and the activities carried out.

Attendance make-up

If the PhD programme has been suspended for maternity or disease leave, PhD students have to send an e-mail to dottoratiemaster@unica.it to confirm the attendance period to make up.
