The MTSS-K project evaluates the adaptation, implementation, and assessment of the Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) educational model in kindergarden school across five European countries, with the aim of reducing educational inequalities and improving socio-emotional behavior (SEB), literacy, and numeracy skills, with particular focus on students at risk of developing a Learning Disability. The MTSS model consists of three levels of support: the first involves instruction for all students in the classroom, the second is for those facing difficulties through small group activities, and the third is individualized support. UNICA's activities mainly focus on conducting a systematic literature review with meta-analysis to identify the most effective practices for developing the MTSS intervention to be implemented across Europe, through the coding of studies with experimental designs. The UNICA group is also involved in the development and validation of tools for 5-6-year-old children, useful for monitoring and evaluating students' progress in basic literacy, numeracy, and SEB skills, as well as in developing a questionnaire for teachers to assess students' socio-emotional behavior.
