The Department of Pedagogy, Psychology, Philosophy supports and promotes the right to study and the well-being of students with disabilities, specific learning disabilities and other special educational needs. It appointed the Commission for Inclusion and Well-being at the Department Council meeting of 17 July 2024.

The Commission's contact person and coordinator is Prof. Donatella Petretto, who since 2010 has been delegated by the Rector of the University of Cagliari to coordinate and monitor initiatives to support students with disabilities (law 17 of 1999) for all initiatives concerning social integration and the rights of people with disabilities, specific disorders and other learning difficulties.

The commission is composed as follows:

The Commission collaborates with the SIA (Inclusion and Learning Services) in order to pursue the aforementioned objective and specifically:

  • guarantees a fair and welcoming environment and to remove obstacles that limit the learning, autonomy and self-determination of students with disabilities and DSA, countering forms of discrimination or marginalization and to prevent school dropouts;
  • promotes the dissemination of the culture of inclusion and equity and on the issues of disability and DSA, also through research, seminar activities, dissemination and training activities;
  • collaborates within the Department of Pedagogy, Psychology, Philosophy and in collaboration with the degree courses that belong to it, with the School of Specialization in Health Psychology, as well as with the rest of the University;
  • promotes the psychological well-being of students, also collaborating with the University Counseling Service and other University offices and services.
