The educational offering of the Degree Program (CdS) in Political Science is characterized by a multidisciplinary profile and a strong international focus, further supported by participation in mobility programs and external internships.
Thanks to this variety of approaches, the broad range of knowledge provided—spanning legal, economic-statistical, sociological, historical, political, psychological, and linguistic fields—equips students with adaptability and flexibility, making graduates of the program suitable for a wide array of professional roles and career paths.
Structurally, the program consists of a common two-year curriculum in which students acquire the foundational knowledge typical of Political Science. This is followed by a third year divided into two specialized tracks designed to meet more specific educational goals, with a focus on the increasing specialization required by the job market or further academic study.
Specifically, the courses in the political-international track (historical-political and institutional) aim to train graduates for further education and employment in organizations operating both internationally and locally in highly internationalized contexts, with particular attention to public administrations and non-governmental organizations. Meanwhile, the political-social and communication track (including anthropological, geographical, and sociological subjects) will deepen students’ analytical tools for studying human groups, systems, and social processes, with the aim of understanding their mechanisms and dynamics of change to improve governance.
As for further academic opportunities, the Political Science degree grants direct access to the Master's Degree Programs offered by the Department of Political and Social Sciences at the University of Cagliari. It also allows access to other Master's Degree Programs, subject to the fulfillment of any additional curricular requirements as specified by the respective academic regulations.
