Radiation therapy consists of the use of ionizing radiation for the treatment of diseased tissues, especially tumors. Advanced techniques have been developed, based on the use of different types of radiation, for reducing the dose delivered to healthy tissues and for maximizing the amount of dose deposited in tumors. The Medical Physics group participates in innovative radiation therapy projects, in collaboration with international facilities and research centers.
