The activities of the group

Examples of images from our research activity. Above, a 3D reconstruction and the sections of a pulmonary nodule connected to a blood vessel, reconstructed from a CT scan. Below, a CT technique with contrast agent and K-edge filters.

The Medical Physics group deals with various aspects concerning the applications of Physics in the biomedical field. Our fields of interest include biomedical imaging, development of tools for simulation and study of X-ray and gamma interactions with matter, dosimetry, radiotherapy and neuroscience. These research activities are carried out in the framework of national and international collaborations. In particular, our group is involved in several projects funded by the Italian National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN).
