In addition to lectures, the curricula of the Postgraduate Degree Programmes also envisage work placements and internships at organisations and public and private companies operating in the environmental and cultural industries.

Direct experience in the field enables the practical testing of the knowledge acquired in the curricular activities and aims to develop, in addition to technical skills, project planning and relational competences.

To activate a compulsory work placement, students need to have a minimum of 27 CFU credits (Resolution of the Degree Boarddated 19-12-2017). In line with the general architecture of the Master's degree programme, work placements/ internships are activated during the fourth and "Final Module".

Numerous training placements have been activated with organisations (e.g. Regional Administration ofSardinia, Municipality of Domus de Maria), institutions (e.g. Capo Carbonara Marine Protected Area) and enterprises (e.g. Accor Hospitality Italia).Organisations and institutions such as the ‘Fondo Ambiente Italiano (FAI)’ environmental agency and the Italian Government's Permanent Representation in Brussels with responsibility for tourismwere also contacted.

Students can choose one of the proposed work placements or request to activate a new agreement for their own project. The Degree Boardwill assess the proposal and its consistency with theDegree Programme, outline the tasks and activities to be carried out, andappoint the internal tutor, in order to initiate a new agreement.
