Abstract
The present work was encouraged by the results of a long archivist research that, in returning a considerable documentation on the trade relations between Sardinia and Sicily in the late Middle Ages, allowed to fill the previous gaps concerning companies and investments by Jewish merchants in trades with the main Sardinian harbours. Particularly, the research highlighted new elements on the relations between the Jewish communities of the two major Mediterranean islands: from institutional similarities due to the common belonging to the Aragon Crown, to the tight network of personal and social relationships, and cultural exchanges in which the whole Jewish community in the majors centres of both territories was involved.File | Size | Format | |
