Abstract

Eugenio Montale told about Le occasioni that the collection of poems was a «romance»: the memory of the past was revisited and actualized after the meeting, and then the loving relationship, with Irma Brandeis, “the Only Begetter”, to whom the collection is dedicated. Concordances in style combine the linguistic research in Italian language with the new poetical experience, strongly influenced by the English language, and the new experience of life.
