Abstract

Modern distribution networks are characterized by higher distortion and wider variability of voltages and currents. Accurate synchrophasor, frequency and ROCOF measurements thus ask for new techniques trying to reduce latency while limiting the impact of spurious components. Taylor-Fourier Multifrequency approach is a good candidate for Phasor Measurement Units intended for distribution system applications. In this paper, an improved version of this method is proposed, relying on the potentialities carried by window functions in both support identification and estimation. Its potentialities are assessed through non-standard test conditions, confirming the enhanced accuracy.
