This paper is intended to attempt to draw out some of the implications for political devel- opments in contemporary Burma/Myanmar. Focusing on the political forces connection, the paper examining the matrix of power relation between formal military regime and charismatic role of buddhist monks up to Saffran Revolution (2007). The exploration undertaken here is necessarily schematic for reasons of space, designed to provoke further analysis on the complex burmese political situation.
