Abstract
The article aims to analyze to what extent the oligarchical constitutional utopia, developed in the context of Athens, addressed the issue of people’s courts. The importance of the “democratic” model by Solon seems to have been recognized (for instance by Theramenes, Isocrates and Demetrius of Phalerum); the only ones who suppressed certain courts were the Thirty Tyrants, whose political project was not interested in consensus and faded in the constitutional utopia.File | Size | Format | |
