Prime catture documentate di Sparisoma cretense (Linnaeus, 1758) (Osteichthyes, Scaridae) nella Sardegna Orientale

Abstract

The capture of two specimens of Sparisoma cretense (Linnaeus, 1758)(Osteichthyes, Sparidae), along the eastern coast of Sardinia in summer 2004 is reported. An adult male (LT=249 mm) and a female (LT=230 mm) were caught by a commercial fishing boat using a trammel nets at 33 meters depth. Water warming could be involved in the northerly extension of the biogeographical range of this species.
