Abstract

The measurement of the macro and micro geometry characteristic of the objects is becoming an important field of study in various research branches, from the quality control to the medical diagnostic. This work presents the application of various Fourier transform based techniques to the analysis of some simple shaped objects: by complementing a modified version of the Takeda/Bone spatial phase shifting with an improved version of the Roddier fringe extrapolation algorithm and a bordering techniques, it is possible to overcome most of the problem—the non integer base frequency and the distortion of the phase field near the borders—that the direct application of the Bone algorithm application poses.
