Matteo Anedda received the the M.Sc degree (Summa cum Laude) in Telecommunication Engineering and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Cagliari in 2012 and 2017, respectively, where he is currently an Assistant Professor.

Dr. Anedda’s research interests are network planning, coverage optimization and optimization algorithms, heterogeneous wireless networks, real-time applications, 5G cellular networks and network selection, rate control, mobile device energy consumption and energy efficiency, adaptive multimedia streaming, and heterogeneous radio access environment, Low-power Wide-Area Networks LPWAN, Smart Cities mobility and people tracking, Multisensorial media, multimedia delivery contents and Multimedia IoT, QoE and QoS.

In 2010 he has been a visiting student at the University of Basque Countries (EHU/UPV), Bilbao (Spain) where he has carried out his M.Sc. thesis with Prof. Pablo Angueira. He received an award for his thesis from Order of the Engineers of Cagliari.

In 2015 he was a Ph.D. visiting student at the Dublin City University (DCU) with the Performance Engineering Lab (PEL) group (Advisor Dr. Gabriel-Miro Muntean). Developed activity: access network selection, network selection based on load balancing traffic, multimedia contents, and QoS user requirements. Adaptive real-time multi-user access network selection (ARMANS) algorithm for traffic-type classes load balancing over heterogeneous wireless networks.

In 2016 he spent seven months as visiting Ph.D. student at the Universidad de Montevideo (UM), Montevideo, Uruguay, under the supervision of Prof. Rafael Sotelo. Developed activity: subjective quality assessments for Ultra High Definition TV (UHDTV).

In 2020 he spent four months as visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Transilvania – Brasov, Romania, under the supervision of Dr. Vlad Popescu. Developed activity: people mobility data processing and mobility optimization, and data anonymization according to privacy by design and by default.

Dr. Anedda is a member of the IEEE Membership, IEEE Communications Society, IEEE Broadcast Technology Society Membership and IEEE Vehicular Technology Society Membership
