Patricia Díaz de Alba was born in San Fernando (Spain) on May 20, 1988. She obtained a five-year degree in Mathematics in 2011 from the University of Cádiz (Spain). She earned her Postgraduate Master’s degree in 2012. In 2017, she received her Ph.D. in Mathematics and Computer Science under the supervision of Professor Giuseppe Rodriguez, with a thesis titled "Numerical Treatment for Inverse Problems in Applied Geophysics." During her studies and doctoral research, she spent several research periods abroad. From June 20, 2017, to June 19, 2018, she held a research fellowship at the Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering (University of Cagliari) under the supervision of Professor Gian Piero Deidda. From November 7, 2018, to May 7, 2019, she was a research fellow at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science (University of Cagliari) under the supervision of Professor Luisa Fermo. From July 8, 2019, to September 24, 2020, she was a research fellow at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science (University of Cagliari) under the supervision of Professor Giuseppe Rodriguez. From November 1, 2020, to December 31, 2021, she was a research fellow at the Mathematics Area of the Gran Sasso Science Institute (GSSI), L’Aquila, under the supervision of Professor Nicola Guglielmi. From January 1, 2022, to December 31, 2024, she was a fixed-term researcher (type A) at the Department of Mathematics, University of Salerno. Since January 2025, she has been a research fellow at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, University of Cagliari. Her research focuses on numerical methods for large-scale inverse and ill-posed problems, quadrature formulas for integral equations, regularization techniques, and applications in Geophysics.
