Graduated with honors in 1996 at Mechanical Engineering of University of Cassino. From 1997 to 2001 hired at the Scientific and Technological Park of Southern Lazio (PALMER), where he deals with the transfer of innovative technologies to small and medium-sized enterprises in southern Lazio and collaborates as an external consultant in the drafting of Quality System of the SIT Center n. 105 of the University of Cassino. From 2001 Associate Professor for the SSD ING-IND/10 - Industrial Applied thermodynamics, at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Cassino. Since 2015 Associate Professor for the SSD ING-IND/11 - Environmental Applied thermodynamics, at the Department of Civil, Environmental and Architecture Engineering (DICAAR) of Cagliari.

His research interests range within the two closely interconnected macro-sectors of Environmental and Industrial Applied thermodynamics, with particular reference to:

  • Development of models for territorial energy planning, with particular regard to the processing of solar energy potentials, in close collaboration with the Central Studies and Strategies Unit of ENEA.
  • Development and testing of non-traditional energy systems, including fuel cells, renewable energy sources and waste-derived fuel (RDF) co-incineration plants. In this context, he oversaw the design and subsequent characterization of a solar cooling system, serving the cooling of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Cassino.
  • Experiments related to the environmental comfort and the evaluation of the relative measurement uncertainty. In this context, he participated in the design of a prototype system for adiabatic cooling of the FIAT auto industrial center in Cassino. For years it has been conducting in-depth experimental campaigns aimed at problems related to ventilation and the dilution of pollutants in an indoor environment.
  • Measurement of thermohygrometric quantities and optimization of calibration processes
  • Thermal conductivity measurements and life cycle analysis of building insulation products

Author of more than 60 scientific papers in the fields of energetics, heat transfer, applied thermodynamics and lighting design
