Department of Civil, Environmental and Architecture Engineering

Roberto Ricciu is Engineer and Associate Professor of Applied Environmental Thermodynamics

He graduated in Civil Engineering at the University of Cagliari in 2000. At the same University he obtained a master’s degree in quality management (2001) and a postmaster training (2002). He Qualified as Naval Mechanical Engineer (2004).

Since 2002 he was Researcher RTI with teaching at the same University, developing research in the field of Mechanical and Thermal Measurements that over time have led to greater attention to the thermal part of heat exchanges and then to technical thermodynamics. He is scientific referent of the Energy Efficiency Laboratory of DICAAR.

He was head/Co Head for regional, national, and international research projects. He was participant and head for regional and national project in the field of the third mission both with public bodies and private companies for research related to territorial planning on energy use and on product innovation.

He is referee and reviewer of scientific journals such as Journal of mechanics and control, Energy and Buildings, International Journal of Heat and Mass Transference.

He is the author over 50 papers on national conferences and international, in national and international journals and patents: he was winner of awards for national and international scientific works.

Since 2010 he has been Adjunct Professor (Gelmini law) and since the same year he has lecture courses in Building Thermophysics and Systems for the energy sustainability of buildings;

from 2013 to 2015 and from 2022 he holds the course of Applied Environmental Thermodynamics at DICAAR in the Courses of Studies in Architecture and Architecture Sciences.

Since 2022 he is Associate Professor in the disciplinary sector Applied Environmental Thermodynamics.

Through the Erasmus program and other international projects he active in international relations with several foreign universities having been hosted as a visiting professor such as: Don Bosco University of El Salvador; (SV), Belarusian State University, Department of Energy Physics, Minsk (BY); University of Chicago, Illinois Institute of Technology (USA); Strathclyde University, Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Glasgow (UK); Lebanese University, Industrial Research Institute, Beirut (LB).
