Scientific activity: The major research interests are: 1) the design and synthesis of biologically active compounds, especially antitumor, analgesic antimicrobial agents, enzyme inhibitors 2) development of new methodology for the synthesis of nitrogen heterocycles.
In the last years the research was focused on
- non peptide antagonists prokineticin receptors
- heterocyclic molecules endowed with antiproliferative activity on cancer cells
- hydrazones endowed with antioxidant and antiproliferative activity
- derivatives of NSADIDs and polynitrogenheterocycles as FAAH and COX inhibitors
- heterocyclic amides as TRPV! modulators
- quinazoline and aminoflavone derivatives endowed with antioxidant and Acetylcholine esterase inhibitory activity
- heteroarylhydrazones endowed with antioxidant, photoprotective and antiproliferative activity
- triazine, carbothioamides and pyridine derivative endowed with antiviral activity
- aromatic and heteroaromatic sulfonamides and sulfamates as carbonic anhydrase inhibitors
- chalcones, hydrazone and maleimide derivitives endowed with nematicidal activity
