Graduated in Chemistry in 1996 at the University of Cagliari with “110 cum Laude”, she started working with the research group in Industrial Chemistry in 1997, with a two-year Research Contract. In the A.A. 1997/98 she attended a Specialization Course in Process Chemical Technologies. In the years 1999-2002 she was a PhD fellow in Chemistry at the University of Cagliari, where she obtained her PhD in February 2003. From May 2003 to April 2004 she was a post-doc fellow at the Tulane University in New Orleans (LA, USA), with a grant from the Italian CNR. From March 2003 to March 2006 she had a Research Contract (Assegno di Ricerca – SSD CHIM/04) at the University of Cagliari. From 1 April 2006 to 1 November 2022 she was a Lecturer/Assistant Professor (Ricercatore) within the SSD CHIM/04 sector. Since 2 November 2022 she has been an Associate Professor of Industrial Chemistry. She carries out her teaching activity within the Degree in Chemistry, Master Degree in Chemical Sciences, Degree in Industrial and Environmental Biotechnologies, Doctorate in Chemical Sciences and Technologies (in the past also in the Degree in Materials Science). The research activity has been developed, often in collaboration with other Italian or foreign research groups, mainly in the field of heterogeneous catalysis. The work has been directed to the preparation, the characterization, and the study of the catalytic activity of different solid systems. The catalytic processes under study have dealt with the production of fine chemicals, the purification of hydrogen for energetic uses, the biodiesel production. Besides the development of sorbents for H2S removal or CO2 capture from gaseous streams, the present research topics deal with the production of fine chemicals and fuels from renewable materials and the chemical recycling of CO2. Great interest is devoted to the correlation between the properties of catalysts or sorbents, determined by various characterization techniques, and their performance. She is co-author of about 65 publications (of whichmore than 50 in scopus/wos indexed international journals) and about 75 communications at national and international conferences and schools.
