Marco Siddi is "Rita Levi Montalcini" Assistant Professor in Political Science at the Department of Political and Social Science, University of Cagliari. He is also Adjunct Professor at the University of Helsinki and Senior Research Fellow at the Finnish Institute of International Affairs.

He teaches the course of International Relations in the MA degree in International Relations. His research focuses on relations between the European Union and Russia, EU energy and climate policy, as well as identity and memory politics in Europe. He has published in some of the most renowned peer-reviewed journals in his research field, including the Journal of European Public Policy, Geopolitics, Europe-Asia Studies, Politics and International Politics (see also his Google Scholar page).

Before being awarded his Montalcini Fellowship in Italy (2021-2024), he was Senior Research Fellow at the Finnish Institute of International Affairs in Helsinki (2015-2021), DAAD Fellow at the Institut für Europäische Politik in Berlin (2014) and Early Stage Researcher at the Universities of Edinburgh and Cologne (2010-2013) within the programme Marie Sklodowska-Curie ITN financed by the European Commission. He has taught at the Universities of Helsinki, Tampere, Edinburgh and Cologne.

Marco received a PhD in Political Science from the University of Edinburgh, a Master of Advanced International Studies from the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna and a Bachelor of Arts in Modern History and Modern Languages from the University of Oxford.

He participates in several research groups at the European Consortium of Political Research and he is a member of the Younger Generation Leaders Network on Euro-Atlantic Security.
