Laura Mais is an assistant professor of Chemical Plants design since 2019. She carries out her teaching and research activity at the Department of Mechanical, Chemical and Materials Engineering at the University of Cagliari.

She did a master degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Cagliari in 2011 and a PhD in Industrial Engineering at the University of Cagliari in 2015 with a project " Electrodeposition of Nb, Ta, Zr and Cu from Ionic Liquid for Nanocomposites Preparation ". From 2015 to 2019 she worked as postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Mechanical, Chemical and Materials Engineering of the University of Cagliari in the project "Engineering of reactor for photo-electrochemical processes of CO2 reduction". She was a visiting researcher at the University of Southampton - Engineering and the Environment (UK) in 2013 and at the Faculté des Sciences Appliquées, Department of Chemical Engineering NCE - Nanomaterials, Catalysis, Electrochemistry, Liège Université (BE) in 2019.

Her main research activities concern:

Synthesis of nanostructured multilayer materials by electrodeposition.

Electrochemical functionalization of surfaces for biosensor and energy applications

Electrochemical oxidation processes for wastewater treatment.

Synthesis and characterisation of semiconductor nanostructured materials.

Electrochemical anodisation for synthesis of TiO2 nanotubes.

Application of photoelectrocatalytic processes in the energetic and environmental field.

The results of the research work obtained up to now have been the object of publications in international scientific journals and have been presented at the main international congresses of Chemical and Electrochemical Engineering.
