In 2011 she was awarded a PhD in Chemistry and Doctor Europeaus title at the same University.  During her PhD she spent a Research stay under an Erasmus Exchange Program Sponsorship (2010) at the Chemistry Department of the University of Sheffield (UK). She subsequently worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Chemical and Geological Sciences of the University of Cagliari (2012-2014, 2017-2018) and in 2013 she was awarded a Fulbright grant in the category Research Scholar, which was exploited to spend six months at the School of Chemistry of Stanford University (USA). Since 2021 she has been holding an Assistant Professor position (Ricercatore a tempo determinato di tipo B) at the same institution.

Her research interests focus on the synthesis and characterisation of new substrates rich in nitrogen, sulfur, and selenium, in particular coordination compounds of precious transition metals. The experimental research is supported by theoretical calculations. The applications of her research span from Information and communication technology to medicine and Cultural Heritage

She is corresponding author or co-author of more than 50 scientific publications in international peer-reviewed journals and of numerous contributions to Italian and international congresses.
