Elona Marku is an Assistant Professor in Management at the Department of Economics and Business, University of Cagliari, where she also serves as an integral member of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (CREA). Qualified as a Full Professor, Elona Marku holds a Doctor Europaeus labeled Ph.D. in Economics and Business, along with a cum laude M.Sc. in International Management, both from the University of Cagliari. Her academic experience includes notable visiting scholar roles at Columbia Business School, Garwood Center for Corporate Innovation, University of California Berkeley, Bayes Business School, Warwick Business School, and WU Vienna.

Marku's research centers around the management of technology and innovation, exploring their impact on firm performance. Her current projects delve into digital transformation and the adoption of emerging technologies. She has been published in peer-reviewed journals, including R&D Management, Journal of Technology Transfer, European Management Journal, Journal of Knowledge Management, Scientometrics, Journal of Management and Governance, and Technology Analysis & Strategic Management. Dr. Marku has also co-authored several books, chapters, and conference proceedings.

At the University of Cagliari, Elona Marku is a member of the Board of Professors for the Ph.D. Program in Economics and Business and imparts her knowledge and expertise across all academic levels, instructing students in the undergraduate, Master's, and Ph.D. programs. In addition to her academic achievements, she is the co-founder of WEsion, a spin-off of the University of Cagliari. She also serves as the co-chair for the 39th EGOS Colloquium.
