Dear students,

there will be lessons next week on Tuesday 16th and Wednesday 17th May - both in Lab A. - times as usual 11.40-13.10.

On Tuesday, there will be mock writing and listening exams whle on Wednesday there will be mock reading and listening exams.

There will also a multiple choice exam available on both days for those who have not taken that part and need to from May onwards. 

For 6 credit students who have not attended classes the third year written exam consists of four parts:

1) Reading (55 minutes) - a reading text and multiple choice questions, word formation exercise and exercise on putting verbs in the right tense. Reading text is similar to CAE reading and use of English part 5 and word formation similar to CAE reading and use of English part 3.

2) Writing (45 minutes) - an essay (look at pages 124-127 on writing discursive essays gives tips to get a good mark).

3) Listening (c. 15 minutes) - four extracts with two multiple choice questions on each - similar to CAE Listening exam part 1. 

4) Multiple Choice (10 minutes) - grammar and vocabulary - 20 multiple choice questions
